“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line.”
~ Lucille Ball
I’ve had at least three pivotal experiences that contributed to my ability to laugh in life’s face:
The first was many years ago when I was an exchange student to Brazil. I was 16 and thought it would be lots of fun to go away for a year. Sometime during my second week in an unfamiliar country I felt lost and out of my comfort zone — big time! All I wanted to do was run home with my tail between my legs. I had no idea how I would survive. Well, I did and I actually thrived.
The second experience was what I call the “black hole” time in my life. I was in my mid 30′s with 3 small children (I had 3 in four years!) and I lost my sense of self. I was scared, plagued by anxiety, and wondering if I would make it through the day. I did and vowed never to be in that space again.
The third one was my graceless divorce after 19 years of marriage. To say it wasn’t pretty is an understatement. Part of the fall-out was the devastating effect on my relationship with my sons and daughter. I wasn’t sure how, or if, I would get through. I didn’t know how I would support myself both emotionally and financially. Still, I went on to design an amazing life and I now have all three children very much in my life in warm, loving relationships.
I developed the LAUGH System as a step-by-step process for getting out of overwhelm, out of self-doubt, and out of despair and back onto the Laugh Track. I can tease out the tools you have inside you to be enthusiastic, to see the glass as half-full and have fun, no matter what and I can show you how to live the life you want, the life you long for.
My background includes a Masters degree in Nursing, graduate of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program in Worcester, MA , student of many alternative therapies, and a successful business owner. All that barely scratches the surface of the life experiences I have collected and continue to engage in with gusto.
